About

Background

Certified continuously since 1989, the farm has been a staple at the Lawrence Farmers Market and City Market in Kansas City. They have been part of the Rolling Prairie Farmers Alliance since 1994 and their own Topeka CSA since 1997.

Practices

The farm employs organic farming methods, growing 13 kinds of mushrooms and 30 kinds of vegetables. They also raise corn and sunflowers specifically as mushroom substrate. Their certified processing kitchen allows them to create value-added products such as tamales, mushroom pate, dried mushrooms, and spinach pesto.

Of note

In addition to their diverse range of produce, the farm is known for its watermelons, peppers, garlic, carrots, leeks, beans, and salad mix. They are actively involved in community-supported agriculture (CSA) programs, providing fresh produce to local communities.
