About the Farm

Background

Veramar Vineyard, the Bogaty family’s first winery, opened to the public in 2000. Justin Bogaty, who joined as winemaker in 2001, has led the vineyard to receive numerous accolades, including 61 ratings of 85 points or higher from Wine Enthusiast Magazine and medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards. The vineyard is known for its commitment to creating a sustainable family business that can be passed down through generations.

Practices

The Veramar estate has 24 acres under vine, primarily on eastern-facing slopes at about 150 meters above sea level and approximately one mile from the Shenandoah River. The vineyard focuses on producing elegant and powerful wines that reflect the unique terroir of Virginia. Each decision is made with an eye toward sustainability and long-term quality, avoiding trends and fads.

The Rest

Veramar Vineyard offers a picturesque setting for private, corporate, or wedding events, accommodating groups from 20 to over 300. The tasting room is open daily, and visitors can enjoy international acclaimed wines while listening to soft jazz, surrounded by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The vineyard also has a loyalty program where customers can earn points toward future purchases.
