UC Davis Student Experimental Farm

The Student Farm, managed by UC Davis students, has been a hub for learning and community engagement. Launched in fall 2021, the farmstand offers a direct connection between the farm and the UC Davis community, allowing for the sale of flowers and organic produce. The farm has a long-standing relationship with the ASUCD Coffee House, supplying fresh produce for over 30 years, and participates in the UC Davis Farmers Market during fall and spring quarters.

Students at the farm engage in all aspects of agricultural production, from planning and field preparation to harvesting and sales. The farm emphasizes hands-on learning, sustainable growing practices, and community-supported agriculture (CSA) models. The Market Garden manages a 100-member CSA program, providing a diverse mix of seasonal produce. The farm also partners with UC Davis Dining Services to supply fresh, local produce, enhancing sustainability and nutritional well-being on campus.

The Student Farm addresses food insecurity through the Fresh Focus program, which donates produce to various food access programs on campus, including the Pantry and Fruit and Veggie Up! The farmstand operates on Mondays from noon to 3 PM, offering a variety of organic vegetables and flowers. Special occasion flowers and DIY flower buckets are also available for order. The farm's educational mission limits the size of the CSA, and there is a waiting list for subscriptions.
