Two Roots Farm
About
Since its inception in 2015, Two Roots Farm has been dedicated to providing high-quality food to the Roaring Fork Valley. Initially started on leased land in Missouri Heights, the farm secured a long-term lease with Pitkin County on Emma Open Space in 2018. Over the years, the farm has grown to serve a 200+ member CSA, local restaurants, and community organizations such as Lift Up and the Pitkin County Senior Center.
Two Roots Farm employs a range of regenerative farming techniques that work in harmony with nature. These include minimum tillage, integrated pest management, cover cropping, composting, and creating pollinator habitats. By mimicking natural ecosystems, the farm avoids the use of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and GMOs. The farm also practices management-intensive rotational grazing and no-till methods to maintain soil health and biodiversity.
The farm is committed to fostering a positive work environment and community connection. It operates an onsite farm stand and participates in the Aspen Farmers Market. The farm's owner, Harper, brings over a decade of farming experience in the Roaring Fork Valley and is passionate about small-scale regenerative agriculture as a means to build a sustainable future.
