About the Farm
Background
Tropical Acres Farms began in 2011 on five acres in Loxahatchee, FL, and has since expanded through a partnership with Sturrock Groves in West Palm Beach. The farm is historically significant for its contributions to the mango industry, particularly through the research and breeding efforts of the Sturrock family, which led to the creation of the patented Duncan and Young mangos.
Practices
The farm utilizes traditional orchard practices, focusing on the cultivation and breeding of a wide variety of tropical fruits. The partnership with Sturrock Groves allows for increased production and diversity in fruit offerings.
The Rest
Known for the Edward mango, Tropical Acres Farms also grows lychee, bananas, sapodilla, avocado, guava, black sapote, and other fruits. The farm is open to the public during mango season from May through September and offers fruit shipping to customers outside the area. Visits outside of scheduled hours are available by appointment.
