Strong Roots Healthy Farming

Located in the heart of Valley Center, Kansas, this urban farm is dedicated to providing local produce to the community. They emphasize the importance of local food in maintaining the health of family, friends, and the broader community.

Avoiding chemicals at all costs, the farm employs alternative methods such as interplanting herbs and flowers, using beneficial nematodes, essential oils, worm-casting tea, and greenhouses. These practices ensure a natural approach to farming and pest control.

The farm offers a variety of produce including leafy greens like spinach, kale, mizuna, tatsoi, salanova, arugula, and chard, as well as root vegetables such as beets, salad turnips, carrots, radishes, and kohlrabi. CSA members can also enjoy summer crops like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash. Additionally, they grow and sell a range of herbs and microgreens.
