About the Farm

Background

In 1989, the Zannon family established Santa Barbara Pistachio Company with the aim of producing the best-tasting, all-natural pistachios. Since their first harvest in 1995 and their first organic crop certified by CCOF in 2007, they have become known for their high-quality, Kosher-certified pistachios. The farm is still operated by Gene and Gail Zannon along with their sons Tristan and Josh, making it a true family affair.

Practices

The pistachios are grown in a high-desert climate that mirrors the pistachio's native environment in the Middle East. The farm employs all-natural brine-dip solutions for flavoring, avoiding chemical sprays, dyes, bleaches, or preservatives. The nuts are hot air-dried daily in small batches to ensure premium quality and retain their natural buttery flavor and nutritional value. The farm controls every phase of production, from planting and harvesting to flavoring and packaging.
