About

Background

Jim and Kay Richardson, a retired veterinarian and registered nurse respectively, founded the farm. Jim's lifelong passion for farming, nurtured during his childhood in north Texas, led them to establish Richardson Farms. The farm is located near Rockdale, TX, and has become known for its commitment to raising animals without hormones or antibiotics.

Practices

The animals at Richardson Farms are pasture-raised, allowing them to forage in the fields and enjoy the outdoors. This method ensures that the animals can express their natural behaviors, contributing to their overall well-being. The farm strictly avoids the use of hormones and antibiotics, adhering to principles that prioritize animal health and ecological balance.

Of note

Richardson Farms participates in several farmers markets, including Barton Creek Farmers Market, Sunset Valley Farmers Market, and Wolf Ranch Farmers Market. They also offer farm pick-up for pre-ordered products. The farm's store is open seven days a week for customer convenience. Additionally, they produce dairy products, including chocolate milk, which is available in limited quantities at the farmers markets.
