About

Background

Founded in 2009 in Sebastopol, California, the farm transformed from a small open field into a working farm under the guidance of Farmer Caiti. It is a woman-owned business with deep roots in the county, known for its community involvement and family participation.

Practices

The farm employs agroecological farming practices with a focus on land and water stewardship. They avoid chemicals, relying instead on soil management and biodiversity. Techniques include composting, mulching, cover-cropping, crop rotation, dry farming, and maintaining incredible crop diversity. The farm also emphasizes human rights and fair relationships with workers.

Of note

Sebastopol's coastally-influenced climate allows for a variety of crops, including cool-season vegetables, dry-farmed tomatoes, cooler-climate watermelons, and a colorful pumpkin patch. The farm offers a weekly box of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers, along with occasional jams, eggs, and meat. Their products are available through a CSA program, at the Sebastopol farmers market, local restaurants, or by special order. Volunteers are welcome, and farm tours can be arranged upon request.
