About

Facts
Founded 1722
Background

Established in 1722 by William and Ebenezer Nurse, Nourse Farm has been operated by the Nourse family for nearly three centuries. It is recognized as the 15th oldest continuously running family business in the United States. The farm has seen eight, nine, and ten generations of the family actively involved in its operations. Visitors can explore the farm's rich history through exhibits and a walking trail that highlight agricultural changes over the past 100 years.

Practices

Nourse Farm cultivates 12 acres of strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries for pick-your-own experiences. They grow a wide variety of heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn, peas, beans, squash, melons, herbs, peppers, lettuce, and greens. The farm emphasizes the use of their own produce in their kitchen, which bakes berry pies, jams, and jellies. They also offer a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, allowing community members to invest in the farm's production and receive weekly allotments of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Of note

The farm store is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering fresh fruit, vegetables, jams, honey, homemade pies, cookies, berry sauces, and other specialty products. The Veg Out Food Truck, serving a plant-forward menu inspired by seasonal produce, operates Friday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The farm also hosts an Event Tent available for rental for special events, including birthday parties and private gatherings. As part of their tricentennial celebration, Nourse Farm features a Heritage Day video and a history exhibit.
