About the Farm
Background
David and Nancy Brown have been farming in the Newberg/St Paul area since 1965. Originally farming between the Ford dealership and Yost’s Nursery, where Providence Newberg Medical Center now stands, they moved just down the road to their current location. The farm has been certified organic since 1991 and now boasts over 80 acres of certified land. Over the years, they have become known for their community garden and organic produce available through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and wholesale.
Practices
The farm adheres to certified organic farming practices, ensuring that all produce is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. This commitment to organic methods has been in place since 1991. The Browns offer a diverse array of vegetables, available about 10 months of the year, with crops maturing regularly to provide a variety of produce each week during the 16-week summer season and 11-week winter season.
The Rest
The farm offers community garden sign-ups and has room for new members in their CSA program, allowing locals to benefit from fresh, organic vegetables. Seasonal pumpkins are also available.
