About

Facts
Founded 1996
Background

Established in 1996, the farm began as a way for the owners to combine work with raising small children, fulfilling a dream of rural living and ecological stewardship. Over the years, the farm has transformed significantly, with reforested hills, restored wetlands, and enriched soil. The farm has become known for its high-quality, certified organic produce and has built strong connections with local markets and restaurants.

Practices

The farm employs organic methods, permaculture practices, and a philosophy of treating the land with care. They focus on preserving soil life, maintaining field borders, and integrating animals and plants within their farming systems. The use of appropriate technology helps minimize ecological impact, and there is a strong emphasis on treating animals with respect and compassion.

Of note

The farm sells produce at several local farmers' markets and through a CSA program that delivers to the Wooster, Cleveland, and Medina areas. They also supply produce to fine restaurants in Cleveland and Wooster. Seasonal crops include a wide variety of vegetables, berries, and unique salad mixes. The farm hosts Landscape Plated dinners and offers farm tours by appointment. Additionally, they produce eggs, lamb, honey, wool, and flowers, and provide opportunities for visitors to volunteer and participate in farm activities.
