Long Wind Farm
About
Long Wind Farm began in 1984 with Dave Chapman and a team of oxen. For three decades, they have provided New England with truly delicious and organic tomatoes. Grown in Vermont soil in glass greenhouses, their tomatoes are available as early as March and as late as December each year. The farm has evolved from a small field operation running a roadside stand to a significant regional organic food producer, actively engaged in the national effort to protect real organic farming.
The farm grows tomatoes in fertile Vermont soil within glass greenhouses, ensuring a product that is free from chemical fertilizers and harmful pesticides. They emphasize the importance of soil health and have been a vocal advocate for keeping soil in organic farming, contributing to the Real Organic Project. Their farming philosophy is rooted in producing full-flavored, juicy, and sweet tomatoes that remind one of a warm summer afternoon in grandma's garden.
Long Wind Farm offers a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program to get their tomatoes directly to consumers. They also provide tai chi classes on the farm four days per week, promoting mental and physical well-being. The farm is seeking a Marketing/Sales Manager to help build customer relationships and enhance their marketing efforts. They believe in the concept of food as medicine, contributing to the health and happiness of their community.
