About the Farm

Background

Located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, north of Tulsa and close to the Kansas border, the farm is known for its heritage brown-egg layers, including Barred Rocks, Australorps, and Rhode Island Reds, as well as Easter Egg hens that produce colored eggs.

Practices

Eggs are hand washed with water, no chemicals, and weighed individually. The hens enjoy a completely free-range environment, supplemented with healthy rations free from hormones, antibiotics, or animal by-products. They live in custom-built coops on skids with expanded metal flooring for clean comfort, which are moved regularly for site rotation and field fertilization. The hens are secured at night to protect them from predators.

The Rest

Egg cartons are designed in a nostalgic 3 x 4 format for ease of packaging, storing, and handling, and are made out of recycled materials. The hens, referred to as the 'Ladies of Lakeview,' roam freely along the lake and across the plains of native grasses.
