About

Background

After the Civil War, both Union and Confederate soldiers settled the countryside, and the area became known as 'Golden Valley.' John Jurgensmeyer and his fraternal twin Ben purchased their property near Montrose, MO in 1919. Today, John's grandchildren and great-grandchildren operate the family farm, which has been Certified Organic since 1997.

Practices

The farm primarily raises Angus and Hereford cattle for their superior marbling characteristics. The cattle forage on continually rotated fresh pastures and never receive synthetic growth hormones. Antibiotics are only used when absolutely necessary for the animal's health and welfare. The pastures are never treated with artificial fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. The farm cuts and bales its own red clover, lespedeza, fescue, and orchard grass hay into large round bales for winter feeding.

Of note

The farm offers beef year-round, available in Quarter, Half, or Whole Beef options. The beef is processed in a small, family-owned USDA inspected facility and is dry-aged for a minimum of 14–21 days. Customers can purchase ground beef, steaks, roasts, brisket, and soup bones. Delivery is available within the Greater Frisco, Texas Area and Greater Kansas City Area. The farm emphasizes the importance of knowing and trusting the source of one's meat.
