Background
The Herbert Family has been farming in Hollister since 1868 when James Hudner purchased land from Colonel Hollister at the beginning of the town's development. The land and farming business have been passed down through generations to the present owners, Pat & Patti Herbert. In 1968, after the death of their father, brothers Phil and Pat took over running the family farm.
Practices
The farm spans 70 acres in Hollister, California, where they grow several crops for wholesale. They also produce compost, which is used on their own land and sold to other growers.
Of note
The farm is located in San Benito County and has been a part of the community since the mid-1800s.
