About

Background

Serving the Greater Batavia area for over 40 years, the Downtown Batavia Public Market has become a staple in the community, providing a venue for local farmers and artisans to sell their goods directly to consumers.

Practices

All items sold at the market must be self-grown, self-baked, and self-made, ensuring that customers receive products directly from the producers. The market participates in the NYS Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), SNAP/EBT, and Double-Up Food Bucks, making fresh, local food accessible to a wider audience.

Of note

The market runs from June 9th to October 29th and is held every Tuesday and Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Thursdays from 9 AM to 7 PM. Located in the Bank Street & Alva Place Parking Lot across from Jerome Center, it offers a safe and festive, family-friendly shopping environment. Vendors interested in participating can email geneseecountryfarmersmarket@gmail.com.
