About

Background

Located at the base of Mt. Fannie in Cove, Oregon, this micro-farm is the smallest registered farm in the state. Known for its gourmet garlic and open-pollinated heirloom vegetables, it serves as a gathering place for those passionate about preserving old, hearty heirloom fruits and veggies. The farm also plays a significant role in the local community as a stop along the Grande Ronde Farm Trail and as the home of the Cove Natural Foods Co-op.

Practices

The farm emphasizes the cultivation and sharing of heirloom seeds, promoting home-grown self-reliance. Garlic scapes are removed in mid-June to encourage bulb growth, with the bulbs harvested in mid-July, aged, trimmed, and cleaned for market from August through October. The next year's crop is planted in late October.

Of note

Open by appointment for fresh garlic and garlic products, the farm offers a typical harvest season from late June through October. Visitors can arrange a visit during the summer months to explore the farm and its offerings.
