About the Farm
Background
The Franklins have farmed in St. Anne, Illinois, for over 100 years. In 2007, Jeff Franklin took 20 acres of the family farm to grow vegetables, which has since expanded to 38 acres. The farm has become a true family and community adventure involving brothers, nephews, daughters, wives, sisters, and neighbors.
Practices
Jeff Franklin uses no synthetic chemicals and practices sustainable farming. The focus is on developing healthy soil and providing healthy, local food for families, while building a vibrant community.
The Rest
The farm sends its vegetables wholesale to farmer's markets, grocery stores, CSA's, distributors, and restaurants throughout the Chicago area. Along with American stand-bys like carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, and red beets, the farm also offers a variety of vegetables such as kale, celeriac, leeks, parsnips, and Italian parsley.
