Anya Owens at A Bar H Farms retired from production, and her business partner Josh Koehn, along with his wife Tara, took over the grass-fed meat company. The name changed, but the products remained the same, including beef, lamb, whole roasting chickens, eggs, and holiday turkeys. Josh and Tara have continued the tradition of raising livestock on their farm in Kansas Settlement, Arizona.
Josh raises cattle and sheep on green pastures for their entire lives, without the use of corn, grain distillery products, hormones, or antibiotics. The livestock are supplemented with hay raised and stockpiled on the farm. Poultry roam freely on irrigated pastures, provided with shade, water, dry feed, and protection. Josh makes his own chicken feed, ensuring it is free of additives, genetically modified products, and animal by-products. This approach ensures a well-balanced diet for the poultry.
Products are directly marketed to individuals, buying groups, Consumer Supported Agriculture (CSA) groups, and farmer market vendors in Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Phoenix, and Tucson. Josh welcomes visitors to his farm, believing that consumers benefit from knowing how their food is raised and who raises it.
