Capri Creamery
About
The journey began in 1994 when the founder's son, Leif, couldn't tolerate any breast milk alternatives. A friend's suggestion to try goat milk led to a remarkable recovery for Leif. This inspired the founder to start raising goats and making cheese at home. Over time, the operation expanded from making feta in the kitchen to producing multiple varieties of cheese in a microcheesery. By 2002, the business secured a spot at the Dane County Farmers Market, where it has been a staple ever since.
The farm focuses on small-scale, artisanal cheese production, emphasizing quality and traditional methods. The goats are raised with care, ensuring their health and well-being, which translates into the high quality of the milk and cheese produced.
Customers can find the cheeses at the Dane County Farmers Market in Madison, WI, throughout the year. The business also offers unique tours, including a Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Tour and a Bicycle Tour des Alps in Switzerland, providing an immersive experience into the world of cheese, wine, and scenic landscapes.
