Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA
About
Located east of Asheville, North Carolina in Buncombe County, this farm is one of the longest operating CSAs in WNC. Originally specializing in white asparagus, the farm now focuses on growing a variety of vegetables for CSA farm share families. With over twenty-five years of experience, the farm has built a reputation for quality produce and customer service.
The farm uses drip irrigation from monitored wells and employs many hand-applied organic inputs and practices, though it is not certified organic. Vegetables are harvested daily to ensure peak freshness and nutrition. The farm emphasizes working with nature, welcoming beneficial insects and accepting the presence of some pests. Food safety is a priority, and CSA members are encouraged to wash all vegetables before consumption.
The farm's CSA boxes are available for pickup at convenient locations in North Asheville, Biltmore, Arden, and Fairview, with limited home and office delivery options in some areas of Buncombe County. The farm does not sell to wholesale distributors, restaurants, or at tailgate markets, focusing exclusively on CSA members. The local growing season runs from mid-May through October, with nearly seventy varieties of vegetables grown on about seven acres.
