About the Farm
Background
Established in 2007, Bull's Ranch began with a small herd of Galloway/Angus heifers and has grown to include pure blood red and black Galloway cattle. Originating in Watertown, Wisconsin, the farm moved to the driftless area of Richland County in 2017, where Greg and Jeannie Bull became full-time farmers. The farm is known for its commitment to raising cattle as nature intended, free from chemicals and genetic modifications.
Practices
Bull's Ranch adheres to holistic and organic methods, ensuring their cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. The cattle graze on organic pastures and are supplemented with hay grown on the farm. No chemical sprays, grains, or forced feeds are used. The farm practices rotational grazing and annual reseeding to maintain land health. Supplements include Redmond salt, natural kelp, organic minerals, and raw apple cider vinegar. The cattle are not given inoculations, antibiotics, or growth hormones, and natural methods are used for parasite and fly control.
The Rest
Bull's Ranch sells beef directly from the farm, offering 25-pound variety boxes or ground beef by the pound. The meat is processed at Straka's, a USDA-inspected plant with the Animal Welfare Approval seal, and is dry-aged for about 12 days. The farm emphasizes humane care for all animals and provides cooking tips for customers. The Galloway cattle, a heritage breed from Scotland, are known for their lean meat and exceptional flavor.
