Bluegreen Gardens
About
Elizabeth and Mike Zawislak, a husband and wife team, started their journey with a love for the outdoors, which led them to Longwood Gardens. After getting engaged, they moved to Elizabeth's hometown of Columbus and realized their passion for flowers and design could become a business. They bought their farm in Lancaster in 2016 and have been growing it slowly ever since. The farm property was previously a horse pasture and dumping ground, and they aim to restore the ecosystem while raising beautiful flowers.
All botanicals are grown using organic practices with a focus on sustainability. The farm maintains much of its property in its natural state of woods or meadow to support wildlife. The balance of rural and urban aesthetics, country and city life, and the structured and organic is a central theme in their farming and design philosophy.
Bluegreen Gardens offers fresh cut flowers and bouquets through a Bouquet Subscription CSA, wholesale to florists, and retail on the farm and other locations in Lancaster. They also provide floral design services for small weddings and events and sell DIY flower buckets. The farm is located between the city of Lancaster and the hills of southern Ohio, offering a picturesque view of St. Mary’s Church and the forested sandstone knobs of Alley Park. Farm-fresh, sustainably grown flowers are available at local shops, their self-serve farm stand, and are used in bespoke designs for weddings and special events.
