Baken Creek Farm
About
Gray and Katie Turner started their farm in 2018 after homesteading in Mechanicsburg for a few years. They were driven by an interest in healthy, nutrient-dense foods and regenerative agriculture. The farm is located on a 30-acre plot in Landisburg, PA, in Perry County. Since its inception, the farm has been committed to producing delicious and nutritious foods for both themselves and their community.
The farm employs rotational grazing, minimal to no tillage, native tree plantings, and composting. These practices help sequester carbon, improve air and water quality, and create habitats for wildlife. They do not use synthetic insecticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, and they supplement their plants and animals with minerals and herbal remedies to improve resilience. The farm also focuses on stewardship of the land, aiming to allow both nature and their farming operations to thrive.
The farm runs an on-farm store open from April through December, offering products from their farm and other like-minded producers. They offer CSA subscriptions with pick-up options at the farm or delivery to Mechanicsburg and Carlisle. Additionally, they provide personal farm tours, camping through HipCamp, and occasional classes. Customers can stay updated by signing up for their email list or following them on Facebook and Instagram.
