V D B Farms
About
Owned and managed by Bob and Beth Van De Boom, this family farm has dedicated itself to raising heritage breeds like Murray Grey cattle and St. Croix sheep, which have not been subjected to genetic tampering or grain-based diets. Known for producing lean, healthy, and flavorful meat, the farm ensures that all animals are humanely treated from birth to abattoir and processed at a local government-inspected plant with minimal transportation.
The farm employs management-intensive grazing to promote the health of both the animals and the land. Livestock are naturally raised on fresh pasture, directly harvesting the sun's energy. Animals are moved to a fresh paddock every day during the grazing season, mimicking natural migration patterns. In winter, they consume quality hay from the farm's fields. The diet consists solely of grass, minerals, salt, and water, ensuring the animals get ample fresh air and sunshine.
The farm offers beef by whole, half, or split half (quarter), lamb by whole, meat chickens by the pound, and eggs by the dozen. Visitors are welcome but are asked to call ahead.
