Russell Family Beef
About
Located in the foothills of Morganton, North Carolina, this farm began as a personal endeavor to provide quality beef for the family. Over time, the demand from friends and their acquaintances grew, leading to the establishment of a business. The farm expanded in 2013 to include pasture-raised pork and later added chickens, responding to customer requests at the Downtown Hickory Farmers Market.
The farm employs rotational grazing techniques across four pastures, ensuring the health of both the land and the cattle. Fresh deep well water is provided from frost-free water troughs. Cattle are processed at around two years of age, dry aged for 15 days, and then vacuum packed and flash frozen in a USDA inspected facility. The farm's commitment to chemical, medication, and hormone-free practices underscores their dedication to producing high-quality beef.
The farm offers beef in 50-pound assortments and can process orders to customer specifications. They also sell pasture-raised pork and cage-free large brown eggs. Their products, including beef jerky in three flavors, are available at the Downtown Hickory Farmers Market and the Wilkesboro Open Air Market. The farm has partnered with the 10% Campaign to support local agriculture in North Carolina.
