a focus on the manufacturing of “CannaCentric” Herbal Products of all sorts.
The Sonoma County Herb Association received it's non profit status as a 501c3 in 1993. Since then we have become a vibrant part of the Sonoma County agricultural and healing communities.
We are an eclectic group of herbalists: herb growers, medicine makers, educators, practitioners, gardeners and students. Our membership is concentrated in Sonoma County, but includes herbalists throughout Northern California and beyond.
Throughout the year we sponsor herbal events and fundraisers focusing on community building and herbal and sustainability education. We also host the Sonoma County Herb Exchange, a clearinghouse providing the highest quality locally and ecologically grown herbs to our local community and beyond.

The Sonoma County Herb Exchange - is a locally-focused clearinghouse, supplied by a diverse network of dedicated herb growers from Sonoma County and adjoining regions of Northern California. This allows us to offer you a broad availability of fresh herbs throughout the year. Our growers share our dedication to sustainable, ecologically friendly growing practices. All follow organic methods; some are certified and some are not. Please specify if you require certified organic herbs. We specialize in fresh, hand-harvested, top quality, whole herbs and roots, often harvested the day we sell them. Our prices reflect the costs of small-scale, attentive, non-mechanized farming. We think you’ll agree that there is good value in supporting sustainable agriculture and small, dedicated growers. We welcome your comments and suggestions, as well as referrals to prospective buyers and growers.

WE RECOGNIZE THE CONTINUED PRESENCE OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES IN THIS AREA. THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL OF HERBAL STUDIES IS ONE OF NORTH AMERICA’S OLDEST CENTERS FOR HERBAL EDUCATION. FOUNDED IN 1978 BY ROSEMARY GLADSTAR, AND LED TODAY BY SCHOOL DIRECTOR REBECCA MAXFIELD ALONG WITH A SKILLED AND DEDICATED STAFF OF TEACHERS, CSHS CONTINUES IN THE SPIRIT IN WHICH IT WAS CREATED.
OUR MISSION IS TO HELP CREATE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING EARTH CENTERED, COMMUNITY BASED HERBAL EDUCATION. CSHS WORKS TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS WITH THE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND CONFIDENCE NEEDED BY THE COMMUNITY HERBALIST. OUR SCHOOL TEACHES FROM THE TRADITION OF WESTERN HERBALISM, WITH A MATERIA MEDICA PRIMARILY MADE UP OF NORTH AMERICAN AND EUROPEAN HERBS. AYURVEDIC AND TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE PERSPECTIVES AND HERBS ARE USED TO COMPLEMENT THE WESTERN TRADITION.
OUR FULL-TIME, ROOTS OF HERBALISM INTENSIVE OFFERS STUDENTS A BROAD-BASED FOUNDATION IN HERBAL MEDICINE. FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T MAKE A FULL TIME COMMITMENT WE ALSO OFFER A BROAD RANGE OF WEEKEND SERIES COURSES AND ONE-DAY WORKSHOPS. SUCCESSFUL GRADUATES OF OUR INTENSIVE PROGRAM GO ON TO THE SECOND YEAR COMMUNITY HERBALIST INTENSIVE PROGRAM AND LEAVE HERE WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THEY NEED TO ENTER AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE FIELD OF HERBALISM. UPON GRADUATION STUDENTS RECEIVE CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION THAT ARE HIGHLY REGARDED BY THE HERBAL COMMUNITY.
