About the Event

Get an inside look at our regenerative farm and conservation efforts during our annual family-friendly fall farm tour!

Join us for a day of fun, learning, and community at the 1st Annual “Reach the Roots” Kinloch Farm Tour, held at our family farm in The Plains, Virginia. We hope you’ll visit for an inside look at our regenerative farm and conservation efforts while enjoying a variety of family-friendly activities and delicious food. Here’s some of the highlights:

  • Hayride Tour: Take a scenic hayride through our pastures and riparian areas to see our cattle grazing and understand how we protect our waterways.
  • Farm Demos: Learn about our regenerative farming practices with hands-on demonstrations of our specialized equipment and tools. Hear about our unique genetics and grazing strategies that produce our delicious grass fed beef.
  • The Giving Grill: Savor 100% grass fed and finished burgers and hot dogs. All proceeds will benefit the Peas & Grace food pantry in town.
  • Live Music: Enjoy live music from Jiamie Pyles, whose homegrown Appalachian fingerpicking style and love of old-school country music were formed right down the road.
  • Conservation Chats: Discover our conservation efforts in our unique Piedmont savannas, including prescribed burning, invasive species control with goats, and riparian area restoration and protection.
  • Calves & Quizzes: Meet our adorable newly born autumn calves with their mothers and then test your knowledge on our interactive quiz board.
  • Honey Making and Tasting: See inside a live beehive and hear from our master beekeepers about the importance of honeybees on our farm, then taste a sample of our “Perfectly Raw Honey.”
  • Children’s Play Area: Let the kids explore life on a farm in our haybale play area featuring a fort and an awesome straw tunnel.
  • Farm Store: Our shop is located at the nearby Archwood Green Barns and open until 6pm. Stop by to pick up your favorite cuts of beef and other groceries on your way home.

All of this, and more, set on our working farm with picturesque vistas of Virginia’s Hunt Country. Bring your friends and family to discover firsthand how we integrate farming and conservation to create a sustainable, thriving ecosystem. We can’t wait to see you and share our story when the weather cools and the leaves change.
