About the Event

Learn to grow microgreens with the Fred's Urban Farm team! No Green Thumb Necessary!

Growing your own food may seem difficult but when it comes to growing microgreens no “green thumb” is required. In this workshop, your hosts Robin Kanzius and Kellen Kanzius will discuss their 8 years of experience growing microgreens here in San Diego.

In the workshop we teach you how to grow microgreens for yourself or at a business scale. We also discuss; variety differences, seed sourcing, nutrition and ultimately why you should be growing microgreens. You will also make and take your own microgreen tray to grow at home. The goal of the class is to leave with enough knowledge to get started on your microgreen journey immediately.

Participants will receive:

  • Skills and knowledge to start growing microgreens for personal consumption or at a business scale.
  • Make and take your own microgreen tray to grow at home.
  • Materials and seed sourcing.
  • Sample multiple microgreen varieties.
  • Learn about the nutritional benefits of microgreens and how to incorporate them in your diet.
