About the Market

Background

Established in the Spring of 2014, the Hillsboro Farmers Market began as a collaboration between local farmers and the Hillsboro Main Street program, setting up on the Hill County Courthouse square.

Practices

Local farmers bring a variety of produce and products to the market, including peaches, watermelons, fresh vegetables and fruits, pecans, grass-fed beef, local honey, and local cheese. Artisans also contribute with items such as goat's milk soap and lotions, all sourced from their farms or ranches.

The Rest

The market operates every Saturday from May through October, featuring approximately 15 local farmers. Visitors can enjoy food trucks offering breakfast or lunch, and special activities and guests on the first Saturday of each month, including stick horse races for kids, appearances by the Texas Honey Bee Princess, and demonstrations from Master Gardeners.
