About the Market

Background

An ancient village on the banks of the Thames, Greenwich has long been home to a Royal Charter Market, originally assigned to the Commissioners of Greenwich Hospital on December 19, 1700, for 1,000 years. It opened on September 3, 1737, with about 60 stallholders, including butchers, a grocer, a baker, and a hatter. Over the years, the market has grown in popularity and established a strong community presence throughout London and England.

The Rest

Today, the market boasts a wide variety of products, including crafts, food, antiques, and jewellery, attracting traders and visitors from far and wide.
