About the Market

Background

Given the success of last year's Holiday Farmers' Markets, Berkshire Grown will host a total of four markets in 2010 with both a north county (Williamstown) and south county (Great Barrington) presence. These markets aim to extend the selling season of regional farmers and food producers while inviting community members to celebrate the region's food culture.

Practices

The markets feature products from local farmers and artisan producers, emphasizing the importance of supporting regional agriculture and food production. By providing a venue for these producers, the markets help sustain local farming practices and promote the availability of fresh, locally-sourced food.

The Rest

Entertainment will include live music at both venues, and pre-order pickups will be available. The events are sponsored by Massachusetts Grown... and Fresher, Williams College, The Sustainable Food & Agriculture Program, The Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives, Mezze Restaurant Group, Mission Bar & Tapas/The Market, The Red Lion Inn, Storey Publishing, and Slow Food of Western Massachusetts.
