About the Farm
Background
In the 1740s, Peter Herber settled in a quiet valley near Allentown, PA, finding fertile land and abundant springs. Over two hundred and sixty years later, another farmer and his family are producing a bountiful harvest for their friends, family, and the wider community of the greater Lehigh Valley. The farm started in 2009 and has since become known for its commitment to providing clean, nutrient-dense food to help families overcome health struggles.
Practices
The farm grows and produces many of the foods included in their Market Box CSA, while also sourcing from local farmers they know and trust. They emphasize the importance of raw milk, fermented vegetables, bone broth, and pastured meats, which have been instrumental in alleviating health issues within their own family. Their farming methods focus on organic practices and maintaining strong connections with other local farmers to ensure a diverse and high-quality selection of products.
The Rest
The Market Box CSA subscription is customizable, allowing members to choose their preferences and swap items each week. The farm offers a variety of products including organic vegetables, local mushrooms, fruit, preserves, honey, maple syrup, flowers, grass-fed meat, pastured eggs, wild-caught Alaskan seafood, sourdough bread, homemade soaps, lotions, salves, local coffee, artisan cheese, raw milk, yogurt, buttermilk, pasta, cookies, granola, chocolate, dried fruit, and nuts. The farm also provides recipes and guidance on how to efficiently prepare nutrient-dense meals using seasonal produce.
