Slide Ranch

Since 1970, Slide Ranch has been a beacon of environmental education, located in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Over the decades, it has become known for its immersive programs that connect people to the land and sea, fostering a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of food, health, and the environment. The farm has welcomed thousands of visitors, including underserved populations, to learn and grow through its diverse offerings.

Slide Ranch employs organic gardening and animal husbandry as core practices, emphasizing sustainable living and the importance of each bite of food connecting us to the soil, sun, water, and air. Teachers-in-Residence engage in a comprehensive 10.5-month internship, learning and teaching these principles. The farm's philosophy centers on respect and responsibility for sustaining natural connections, with customized educational programs tailored to diverse groups.

Open to the public from 8am till sunset with no fees required, Slide Ranch invites visitors to explore its trails and coastline. The farm offers a variety of programs for school and community groups, with scholarships available. It also serves as a picturesque venue for weddings and special events, combining natural beauty with a welcoming atmosphere. Memberships provide early registration and other benefits, supporting the farm's mission to connect children with nature.
