About the Farm
Background
Holly Hill Farm, a 140-acre farm, has been owned and operated by the White family for five generations. In 2002, Frank and Jean White established Friends of Holly Hill Farm as a 501c3 nonprofit organization to operate the farm. The farm is situated on historic conservation land in Cohasset, MA, among 18th-century farm buildings. Known for its community engagement, the farm has been serving the community for over 20 years and is recognized as Cohasset's only working farm.
Practices
Holly Hill Farm is committed to certified organic and regenerative farming practices that prioritize the health of the land, soil, crops, and environment. The farm grows year-round in fields and heated greenhouses, ensuring a continuous supply of fresh produce. They focus on sustainable growing methods, having been certified organic by the USDA since 2000. The farm also emphasizes conservation and biodiversity, providing workshops and volunteer opportunities to educate the community about land stewardship.
The Rest
Holly Hill Farm offers a variety of educational and community programs, including summer programs for children aged 3-16, and has reached over 19,000 school children in 2023. The farm stand, open year-round, features organic produce, local farm products, and accepts SNAP. The farm also runs the Farm to Food Pantry Program, delivering over 4,500 pounds of healthy food to local food pantries in 2023. Additionally, the farm hosts one of the region's largest organic plant sales and provides hiking trails for visitors. Holly Hill Farm is proud to be an AmeriCorps service site, offering numerous volunteer opportunities.
