About the Farm

Background

Goat House Farm began in the summer of 2015 with four acres, four goats, and four chickens. It was founded on a love of animals and a passion for sustainability. Over the years, it has grown to include a variety of animals and has become a 501(c)(3) micro-dairy known for its commitment to compassionate practices and natural care of the land and animals. The farm is also home to the Leon County 4-H Dairy Goat Project, aiming to increase youth participation in sustainable agriculture.

Practices

The farm is dedicated to compassionate practices and the most natural care of the land and animals. As stewards of the land and herd, they believe in sharing nature’s blessings and educating the community about animal care. They emphasize holistic care and scientific best practices for goat husbandry, focusing on compassion, empathy, and environmental awareness. The farm also partners with nonprofit organizations to align shared missions and services.

The Rest

Goat House Farm offers several agritourism opportunities, including farmstays and day visits, aiming to create a space where visitors can learn about the animals. They serve as a resource for first-time goat owners and sell chicken eggs, specialty cottage goods, honey, and natural goat milk products. The farm also sells raw goat milk for pet consumption, adhering to Florida law. Additionally, they are involved in community wellness through goat-assisted therapeutic services.
