About the Farm
Background
Located in southern Venango County, Baytree Farm spans 180 acres of grass pasture and hayfields. The farm has been home to its current residents for over 30 years, running around 200 ewes. Known for producing various size lambs for different markets, the farm has built a reputation for high-demand lambs sold at 60–75 pounds live weight, with larger lambs available for specific customer needs.
Practices
Baytree Farm operates on a pasture-based system, offering rotationally grazed pastures to their flock, ensuring unlimited access to fresh air, sunshine, clean water, and exercise. The farm produces all its forage for winter feeding and strictly avoids the use of hormones and antibiotics. The farm has completed the first phase of the Sheep Safety and Quality Assurance Program sponsored by the American Sheep Industry Association, emphasizing humane handling and conservation-minded practices.
The Rest
Whole or half lambs can be shipped nationwide from a USDA inspected facility that follows humane handling procedures. The farm accepts credit cards and accommodates special requests. Visitors are encouraged to visit the website for more details and are welcome to provide comments or questions.
