About the Farm
Background
David and Maryjane, married for 27 years, have grown their farm business from a small produce stand at the end of their driveway to a thriving market. The farm has been in David's family since the 1800s, and he began working full-time on it after high school, starting his beef business. Their children, Jacob and Jennifer, also contribute, with Jacob helping on the farm and Jennifer running a small goat business.
Practices
The farm raises Angus Hereford cross steers that are grain-fed, hormone-free, and naturally raised. They also produce brown eggs from naturally raised chickens. The farm emphasizes self-service and honesty in customer transactions, and they have recently added Venmo as a payment option.
The Rest
The roadside stand is open year-round from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, offering a variety of products including honey, eggs, sweet corn, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, cut flowers, zucchini relish, pumpkin butter, baked good mixes, and seasonal items like pumpkins, cornstalks, straw, mums, and gourds. Customers can purchase individual cuts of beef or order larger shares. The farm also sells hay and straw throughout the year.
