About the Farm
Background
Wyebrook Farm, located in Honey Brook, PA, offers an alternative to the industrial food supply by focusing on responsibly raised animals and sustainable farming practices. Known for their commitment to quality and integrity, they sell their products directly from a historic barn on the farm, at farmers markets, and through an online butcher shop. The farm also promotes community support and the preservation of Chester County's agricultural character.
Practices
Wyebrook Farm employs a diverse polyculture system, raising 100% grass-fed beef using rotational grazing techniques. The cattle graze on pasture for 9-10 months and spend 2-3 months in an open-sided barn, fed only hay. Pigs live entirely in wooded areas, foraging for food supplemented with organic, non-GMO grains and roasted soybeans. Sheep, also 100% grass-fed, graze alongside the cattle, while goats share the pigs' wooded area, consuming brush and some grain. Laying hens and broilers are pasture-raised, with broilers on pasture from March to October and laying hens year-round, all fed non-GMO grains. The farm avoids artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, hormones, and antibiotics, ensuring healthy, safe, and nutritious food.
The Rest
Wyebrook Farm encourages visitors to tour the farm and learn about their farming practices firsthand. They emphasize the importance of knowing the farmer who produces your food and offer a range of branded merchandise, including hats, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. By purchasing from Wyebrook Farm, customers support the local community and help maintain the agricultural heritage of Chester County.
