About the Farm

Background

Modeled after mid-nineteenth century Parisian Market Gardens, the farm offers fresh produce and eggs through a community supported agriculture (CSA) program and at select farmers markets throughout York County.

Practices

The farm employs permaculture methods such as passive rainwater harvesting, forest-edge gardening, polyculture, biochar, reduced or no tillage, and chicken-powered composting. Everything on the farm serves multiple purposes with a primary goal of maintaining a closed-loop system to eliminate waste and reduce dependence on non-local inputs.

The Rest

Handcrafted products for daily living are made of 100% renewable and ethically-sourced materials, with a preference for locally-sourced materials when available. The farm also specializes in permaculture design, installation, and maintenance, featuring edible and medicinal plants alongside ornamental species, and offers transitional landscape services to enhance sustainability.
