About the Farm
Background
Located in southeastern Connecticut, the farm has established itself as a hub for sustainable, organic, and Biodynamic agriculture. Known for its chemical-free food, the farm connects consumers directly to the natural cycles of the earth. Over the years, it has grown to include a variety of produce and livestock, offering a rich, hands-on experience for those involved.
Practices
The farm employs a holistic management approach, respecting all life forms and processes. It uses intensive rotational pasture systems for its Milking Devons and Jersey cattle, ensuring the land is nurtured and revitalized. The farm's practices include seed starting, planting, cultivating, harvesting, marketing, composting, cow milking, beekeeping, and cheese making, all adhering to Demeter and Organic certification standards.
The Rest
The farm offers annual internships, providing committed individuals with the opportunity to learn all aspects of operating a small, diversified farm. Interns receive housing or camping space, a half share of CSA for food, and a small stipend. The farm also features a young orchard, berry patch, forests, creeks, and cultivated gardens.
