About the Farm
Background
Founded in 1971 by Pete and Marilyn Edwards, the farm has been raising cattle for over 40 years. Initially focused on Black Angus, the farm transitioned to Red Angus in 2002 due to Marilyn's preference for their temperament and appearance. By 2008, the farm diversified to sell beef directly to consumers, with the help of their daughter Amy and her husband Kevin. The farm now sells beef to consumers, restaurants, and stores, and has recently started offering Wagyu/Angus Cross beef.
Practices
The farm raises cattle that are birthed on-site, ensuring no feed stock from unknown sources. The cattle are antibiotic-free and do not receive growth hormones. They are fed a diet of grass, hay, and grain, resulting in lean, healthy beef. The farm also practices AI breeding and maintains a herd of about 200 Red Angus cattle.
The Rest
The farm market is open to the public on the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The family, including their grandchildren, actively participates in farm operations and 4-H activities. The farm also sells its products at local farmer's markets and to a few restaurants and stores. Visitors are welcomed to experience the farm and its heritage.
