About the Farm
Background
The Wiltse family has been farming for four generations, starting with Marie and Jerome 'Red' Wiltse who moved to the current farm location in 1965. After Jerome's passing in 1986, Marie took over the farm operations, proving her resilience and determination. The farm has grown over the years, expanding its offerings and continuing the family legacy. Marie passed away in 2018, but her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren who continue to run the farm.
Practices
The farm employs crop rotation to manage pests and maintain soil health, keeping detailed records of ground nutrients to apply only what is necessary. Integrated pest management is used to ensure that any pest control measures are safe for people and the environment. The farm also grows a variety of plants in greenhouses, starting with annuals, perennials, herbs, and vegetable plants in the spring.
The Rest
The farm offers a range of seasonal activities and products, including U-pick flowers, tomatoes, sweet corn, and a pumpkin patch in the fall. They also provide landscaping materials and services, and host various events throughout the year. The farm is known for its Sweet Corn and has a strong commitment to serving the community with high-quality produce and services.
