About the Farm
Background
Founded in 2013, this farm is located 9 miles west of Ann Arbor and prides itself on keeping the ancient practice of agriculture alive. Known for its diverse offerings, the farm provides over 60 types of fresh vegetables, apples, pears, mushrooms, and wild edibles. The farm also supplies several restaurants and sells produce and products through its farm store.
Practices
The farm employs organic practices and emphasizes the importance of growing food with love and consciousness. Free range hens, ducks, and other animals are raised in a manner that respects their natural behaviors. The farm also focuses on community involvement and education, offering classes and a Saturday market to share knowledge about agriculture and food origins.
The Rest
In addition to produce, the farm offers a variety of products including Dexter Granola Co. Granola, organic soaps, and raw honey. The farm is home to a diverse array of animals including barn cats, a talking wild Starling, a dachshund named Henry, and a Shepherd Husky mix named Coco. Plans to add Purebred Nubian dairy goats, a flock of sheep, and quails are underway. The farm also hosts a monthly women's moon lodge and various community events.
