About the Farm
Background
Located near Newville in south central Pennsylvania, this small family farm has dedicated itself to producing high-quality, pasture-raised products. Known for its commitment to natural farming practices, the farm offers a variety of meats and dairy products, all produced without the use of chemicals or hormones.
Practices
The farm operates on a philosophy of working in harmony with nature, adhering strictly to all-grass based farming methods. Animals are raised on pasture, and the farm cycles its production with the seasons to avoid disease, reduce costs, and prevent environmental degradation. Calving coincides with deer fawning, chicks are started when wild turkey eggs hatch, and workloads increase with the lengthening days. This seasonal approach ensures that farming practices remain in sync with natural rhythms.
The Rest
The farm produces limited amounts of grassfed beef, veal, lamb, rabbits, pork, chickens, turkeys, and eggs. Additionally, raw milk cheeses, aged at least 60 days, are made on-site from grassfed Jersey cows.
