About the Farm

Background

Founded by Sally Voris, White Rose Farm spans 132 acres in northwestern Carroll County and has been a cornerstone of the community since its inception. The farm's non-profit, White Rose Farm Circle, Inc., was established in 2015 to offer educational, community, and seasonal events. The farm is known for its vibrant gardens and a commitment to restoring harmony and happiness through biodynamic practices.

Practices

White Rose Farm employs biodynamic techniques to enliven the soil and all life on the farm. The farming philosophy centers on working with the rhythms of nature to create a balanced ecosystem. The farm's large garden is a testament to this approach, displaying exuberant colors and textures, with bees and butterflies in abundance. Cows graze in the pasture, and geese and ducks range freely in the grass, contributing to a diverse and healthy environment.

The Rest

The farm is a sensory feast, inviting visitors to connect deeply with nature. Seasonal events and full moon celebrations are held to honor the Earth's rhythms. Educational workshops, volunteer opportunities, and community gatherings are integral to the farm's mission. Visitors can taste new herbs and vegetables, pick flowers, hold chickens, and learn new farming techniques. The farm also offers a Rent-a-Row program for those who wish to grow their own food.
