About the Farm
Background
Westport is one of the last surviving coastal farming communities in Massachusetts, known for its diverse landscapes including rivers, farmlands, woodlands, beaches, and marshes. These landscapes contribute significantly to the town’s agricultural heritage, natural beauty, and traditional way of life.
Practices
The community focuses on producing sustainably grown produce available in season. They host the Westport Farmers' Market from June 14 to September 27, and the annual Harvest Festival in October.
The Rest
The Westport Land Conservation Trust, a non-profit organization, plays a crucial role in preserving natural resources, farmland, and wildlife areas for future generations. They also work to protect historic sites and educate the public about the wise use of natural resources.
