About the Farm
Background
Since 1908, over four generations of Webers have been market gardeners and fruit growers. Initially, they transported their produce to Baltimore by horse and wagon, selling door-to-door. As the city expanded, the family began selling directly from the farm. Weber’s Cider Mill Farm is the oldest continuously operating cider mill in Maryland, using the same Runkle’s Company Cider Mill purchased in 1947. Jo-Ann and Steve Weber have managed the farm market and cider mill since 1971, expanding the business to include a bakery, gift shop, and fall family entertainment.
Practices
The farm emphasizes the importance of locally grown produce, ensuring fruits and vegetables are fully ripened and nutrient-rich. Fresh apples are pressed into cider using traditional methods, maintaining a connection to the farm's historical practices.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including pick-your-own fruits at PeachBerry Farm, barnyard fun with mazes, slides, and farm animals, and seasonal events like Thanksgiving and Christmas markets. The farm also features a country bakery offering fresh pies, doughnuts, and homemade fudge, as well as a gift shop with unique items and home décor.
