About the Farm
Background
Named the 2012 Conservation Farmer of the Year by Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District, the farm has become known for its diverse range of produce and livestock.
Practices
Practicing sustainable, integrated farming, the farm avoids pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilizers, growth hormones, preventive antibiotics, and preservatives. Animal Welfare Approved for pastured breeding goats, pigs, and laying hens, the farm ensures high standards of animal care. Honey bees are kept for raw honey production, and hens are pastured, soy-free, and organically fed.
The Rest
The farm offers weekly or bi-weekly vegetable and egg CSA shares that sometimes include canned and baked goods. They sell pastured beef by the quarter, half, or whole, and Savanna and Spanish goats, as well as American Guinea hogs, are available for breeding and meat.
